Fencing

I started last year, at Marist. It’s great exercise and it’s lots of fun as well as a great stress release to be given permission to beat the s*** out of people with swords. In case you’re wondering why I’m always quiet in Art of Culture, it’s mostly because I just came from fencing :)
Reading/Movies

I’ve always loved reading for fun. I like to go into my own world a lot and reading is a much better way of doing it than simply zoning out. Fantasy and Sci fi are my favorite genres. Unfortunately, my love of reading doesn’t quite extend to college textbooks. I know watching movies shouldn’t really be grouped with reading, but too bad, I have more than five interests. I love all kinds of movies, and my crazy collection of more than a hundred DVDs really reflects my diverse taste.
Bikeriding

I was a pretty late learner (I was about 11 before I first rode successfully) so riding still makes me feel pride in myself. I love the sensation of wind in my face and in my hair and of being so much faster than everyone else. I have my bike on campus, so you’ll probably see me on it at some point, if you haven’t already. And if you don’t see me, you’ll hear me; my brakes are new and they still squeal piercingly.
Bowling

Again, something I take pride in being able to do fairly well. One of the happiest moments of my life was bowling a 200 game (I know, that’s not so great if you’re a pro, but I’m happy with that, since my average is around 150). I’m on the bowling club on campus and I’ve convinced my two best friends to join with me.
Shooting/Archery

I just discovered last weekend that I really like shooting at a firing range. I fired a .22 and a 12 gauge shotgun and I was so proud of myself that I hung up my paper target on the wall of my dorm room. I also enjoy archery, even though I haven’t partaken in years. I’d love to get my own compound bow. That and my own sword… Then once I get my own gun I’ll be able to kick a** in three different ways!!
